PROJECT PAZ IS A NEW YORK-BASED NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION CREATED BY A GROUP OF PROFESSIONALS COMMITTED TO PROMOTING PEACE IN CIUDAD JUAREZ, MEXICO



All the funds we raise support community development programs geared towards spreading hope to future generations and promoting peace in the region, one project at a time. ADAL GUTIERREZ,
Co-Chairman
Adal is a Marketing Director for Finhabits, an new investment company launching in 2016. He has worked for agencies in New York City including kbs+’s Attention where he worked on social media programs. Additionally, he worked for PR firm Edelman, contributing to PR strategies for some of the biggest beauty and food brands globally. Adal is a native of Chihuahua City, Mexico and lived in the El Paso/Juarez area while in college. He has been interviewed about his work and activities by CNN en Español, AP, Televisa, and Excelsior. CARLOS ARMANDO GARCIA,
Co-Chairman
Carlos is the CEO and founder of Finhabits, a new technology and financial services company that meets Latino’s financial needs. Prior to this, he was a managing partner of Madison Quant Labs, a quantitative hedge fund. In NYC, Carlos also worked for Merrill Lynch and co-founded Fundspire, Inc., an analytical platform for hedge fund investors. He graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science.
   
STACEY CALDWELL,
Board Member
Originally from El Paso, TX, Stacey has spent the last 13 years developing the wholesale businesses for brands including Thakoon, Moschino, and Sinha-Stanic. Most recently she worked as the Vice-President of Global Wholesale for Thakoon. She is the co-author of the New York Times Bestselling parody Where’s Karl?, and she currently runs the fashion and interior consultancy Caldwell Creative. She is one of the founding members of the New York non-profit organization Project Paz.
   
KARLA MARTINEZ,
Board Member
Karla has lived and worked in media for over ten years in New York City. She grew up in El Paso, Texas, graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Marketing in 1999, and lived briefly in Paris before moving to New York in 2000. Beginning her editorial career at Elle Magazine, she later worked at Vogue for four years, followed by The New York Times, Interview and most recently, W Magazine. In 2011, Karla and friend Cecilia de Sola launched a loungewear line called Piamita.
   
VERONICA MARTINEZ,
Board Member
Veronica Martinez was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. She moved to New York to attend Fordham University. After graduating with a degree in Business Administration, she began her career in the fashion industry. Veronica has been part of project Paz since its founding.
